While on the water, a guide will be with you at all times. Guides will be there for fishing, but to assist with any other issue/emergency that might arise.
Since this is a remote location, there is no cell service, which provides you with an opportunity to really disconnect. However, there will be a satellite phone at base camp in the event of an emergency.
The weather at our base camp is generally a few weeks behind the weather of the rest of West Virginia and Virginia. We will experience cooler nights, warm days, and storms. Even if the weather reports are calling for no rain during your trip, please be prepared for bad weather as storms pop up quite often.
Additionally, weather will also have an impact on the fishing. If it storms before or during your trip, it can change the water conditions quickly. Please be mindful of this not only for fishing purposes, but while wading as well.
Please be aware that this is not a fishing trip where you are dropped off stream side by a vehicle. There will be some sections where you will need to be able to climb up and over rocks and valleys. If you are not accustomed to this type of terrain, please call us, and we can discuss what options we have for you.
Arrangements can be made to pick you up from one of the local airports if you are flying in. There will be a fee for this service.
